Why does crow pose hurt my triceps, and where should my knees actually rest?
I can lift for a breath or two, but my triceps ache for days and my knees keep sliding off my arms. Should they sit on the triceps or higher, near the armpits?

Aim for the knees high on the back of the upper arms, as close to the armpits as you can, with the elbows bent over the wrists. Round the upper back and press the floor away: if the triceps carry everything, you are sinking instead of lifting.
Same here a year ago. Placing a block under my feet and lifting the hips first changed it completely — the soreness went away within two weeks.
