My legs fall asleep when I sit in vajrasana. Why, and how can I avoid it?
After a couple of minutes my feet tingle and go numb.

Your body weight compresses the nerves and blood vessels of the lower leg. Sit on a block or a rolled blanket between the heels and the pins and needles usually disappear.
A folded blanket under the ankles also helps. Come out as soon as it tingles; there is no prize for numb feet.
